My husband and I are taking our 1 yr baby and my mom to Turkey next month.
We'll fly into IST and take another flight to Izmir for 3 nights there.
We'd like to visit Efes for 1/2 day as well as relaxing on a resort type of hotel (preferably on the beach).
Any reccomendation of where to stay?
Ideally, We'd like a luxury resort (maybe about $200-350 per nite).

Izmir airport is actually almost half way between the city and the town of Selcuk where Ephesus is located. And about 15 miles from selcuk is the resort town Kusadasi.
The only hotel we have stayed there recently is Kismet which is on a small promontary of its own, an excellent location, close to some good restaurants and a swimming area. It is also within your budget. However check on Trip Advisor for other hotels with sandy beaches like Tusan or Turban.
Or, you can stay at a small boutique hotel one night in Selcuk to visit the museum, the basilica, Ephesus, etc. like Nazhan or Bella, and then drive about 120 miles (all motorway) to Cesme which has terrific beaches and upscale hotels and resorts including a reasonably good Sheraton. Check Ilica Hotel. The Ilica and Alacati areas are more upscale.
