Contacted the Haus Lipmann today and receicecd a negative reply. Herr Lipmann is fully booked for my time in Beilstein.
Do you have another suggestion? I hope so.Any place on the Mosel will be ok.

cochem has a bevy of small hotels and Zimmer Frei and is one of the most attraction towns and attractive settings on the Mosel. So many to chose from. July is high season here as lots of Dutch and Germans have vacations then.

Did you inquire to see if they had rooms at the Altes Zollhaus? It is located right next to Haus Lipmann (and also owned by the Lipmann's) on the river. We ate in their restaurant last month and it looks quite nice. Otherwise, the Gute Quelle in Beilstein also looked nice. It's not on the river but on the Market Square just a few feet from the river.

I recall a very nice stay in the Hotel Triton on the Mosel in Cochem several years ago. It's located opposite the main part of town and the castle with a nice view of both across the river, and it's an easy walk across the bridge to the other side. Good luck.

Five years ago we stayed in Zell at a small winery. They had two apartments to rent out: Franz Josef Weis, just west of the town of Zell. Very nice. There also seemed to be many rooms(zimmer)for rent all along the Mosel. Good luck.

I would not sweat it, all of the towns along the Mosel have plenty of zimmer frei. Even more so in the smaller towns. We stayed in a zimmer frei and then went to their basement to buy wine that they had procduced. So their are plenty of choices.

We just returned from Germany and had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Gute Quelle in Beilstein. We, too, had tried to book the Haus Lipmann, but it was full (only has 5 rooms, I think). The Hotel Gute Quelle was quite nice, one of our favorite hotels. Rooms are typical European size, very clean with comfortable beds. We had a little balcony with small table and 2 chairs. It was charming and is family run. Susan is from Ireland and is very warm and friendly. Have a great trip!
