Aarau/Zofingen area

Read some enticing info about Aarau and Zofingen (not to mention St.Ursanne).
Will be in Luzern area this October.

Although St. Ursanne is too far, Aarau and Zofingen are under two hours away from Brunnen (acceptable one-way train transit for me).
Has anyone personal experience of either of these small towns?
"Worth it?" to travel there as a daytrip?
(Or should I save that whole area for another year?)

Aarau is the capital of the canton of Aargau. There is a nice little old town. Aarau is also a garrison. The downtown is typical for that.
Zofingen has also a small little old town.
I think there are more attractive places to visit in and around Lucerne.

Thanks pore.
I'm thinking that I will save this french-speaking region for next year to explore more in-depth, in combination with Murten, Fribourg, Gruyere and Neuchatel.

Thanks Michael,
Yup! Will have to dedicate NEXT year's trip to Basel, Biel and the above-mentioned northwestern towns!

We were in Basel five years ago. When we went to the market we bought a smoked eel and carried it around with us all day but what a delicious dinner we had.
We also obtained the names of my grandfathers siblings and learned that all my aunts and uncles were named after them.

I hope to learn more during next years trip.
