Trip Report A whale of a time in the Azores!

Jump to last reply

We had thought about going to the Azores to do some whale watching for quite some time, so when we saw that the weather forecast was good for a week, we decided to hop on a plane at short notice. We booked our tours with Espaço Talassa in Lajes do Pico, on the island of Pico. Not only do they run twice daily whale watching trips in RIBs, they also run a small hotel and restaurant. We had a total of five three-hour boat trips and managed to see an amazing ten and possibly even eleven different species, many of which approached very close to the vessel.
