A month in Italy - The perfect itinerary for a first timer!

Jump to last reply

My husband and I are Canadians visiting Italy this fall and I would love some feedback on the itinerary I have planned.

We fly into Venice where we will spend 4 nights with a day trip to Verona. Then it's off the Menaggio on Lake Como for two nights before heading to Cinque Terre for 3 nights.

Will we have time for a day trip to Genoa or Portofino fron Cinque Terre?

From there we are off to Florence for 2 nights and then the Tuscan countryside for 2 nights.

From there we will take a vacation from our vacation and head to Puglia for a week where we have rented a Trulli villa and will meet with friends from England. What are the must sees in Puglia?

After our little break we head to Rome for 4 nights followed by the Amalfi Coast for 3 nights, 2 nights on the island of Capri and finally 2 nights in Naples before flying home.

I would love input on day trips we should try to do as well as any must see places we are missing. Also, if there are any festivals during these times that we should try to make. Any suggestions at all are welcome. We won't be heading back to Italy anytime soon (too much world to see!!) so we want to make the most out of our month (Sept 15 - Oct 17).

Thanks in advance!!!
