My First Trip to Provence and Paris...Loved!!!

Hi Pegge,
We have two excellent Slovenia travelogues on our web site, which are packed with great ideas for your trip. Enjoy. http://www.thetravelzine.com

Slovenia can be divided into 3 zones.
Northern Slovenia: a former austrian region. But all german people were kicked away after II WW.
Central Slovenia is a copy of alpine Austria. You know original sounds better.
The coast region is a former italian region.
All Italians were kicked away after II WW.
Now it's the same strange and horrible thing like a spanish village where Russians live.May be amusing, if you want
yep but unfortunatelly the first slovene state was founded in 9th century (called Caranthania) and it occupied the whole territory of today's austria (and hungary too) ... so much about history and a spanish village where Russians live ....
If you do a search for Slovenia in this forum, you will find a report of 5 days we spent in Slovenia last October in the Lake Bled area - under Lina's Slovenia Trip Report. Maybe this will give you some ideas.
I visited Slovenia two years ago. I very much enjoyed the village of Bled which is a very short train trip from the capital city of Ljubljana. You can easily do a day trip from Ljubljana but it is worth a couple days there if you have the time. Ljubljana is maybe the smallest capital city in the world at about 25,000 and is very charming and cheap. Very friendly people.

We drove into Slovenia last may from Vienna. We spent one night in the Logarski Dolina, which is sw of Maribour. It was a delightful place. This is a narrow canyon with a waterfall. After visiting Ljublana and Bled we visited a WW 2 army hospital sw of Bled. This was very interesting. It is located in a very narrow canyon.Slovania is a beautiful country with friendly people and very inexpensive. We also visited a lace factory in Cipkarska.
