Trip Report A Bubbly Stay in Reims

Jump to last reply

We just returned back to Paris from a 3 day stay in Reims that we really enjoyed. We stayed at the Best Western de La Paix which was very nice and close to everything. We did the Aromantique Tour at Veuve Cliquot with a tasting in the caves of 4 vintage champagnes with cheeses to match with each one served to us by a sommelier by candlelight. Was very memorable. One of the days we took an all day private tour to the small villages to taste the grand Cru champagnes and to visit their working cellars and a lunch stop at a Michelin star restaurant called Le Grand Cerf. It was quite a dining experience with the chef catering to us it seemed as he knew we don't eat meat. All in all we thought the people of Reims were very nice and food was good and most of all the champagnes were excellent and a good price. We bought some to drink in Paris but one will come home with us as a gift for a special person.
