A Book on Hiking and Walks in the Engadine??
After reading some threads to check out easy hikes and walks in the BO, I'm going to order "Swiss Bernese Oberland: A Travel Guide with Specific Trips to the Mountains, Lakes and Villages" from Amazon.
Is there a similar book for easy walks/hikes in the Engadine?

By the way, I do want relatively easy 2-4 hour walks and hikes that we can take from towns or villages, from stops on the Bernina Express, or take a cable car or transport one way, and walk back. We are not real "hikers" we just love being outdoors and seeing the country.

hi, wrenwood,
I can't resist plugging the book on that very subject by my friend Kev Reynolds published by cicerone books.
I just googled it and it's available on amazon for under £10.
Kev's a very knowledgeable chap and a great writer. Even if you don't do many of his walks, you'll love his style, and get to know a lot about the engadine in the process.
regards, ann

Hi Ann, I just got around to ordering the book from Amazon. Your friend Kev Reynolds certainly has written a lot of books on walking in different areas and countries! I am looking forward to reading his book.
By the way "Swiss Bernese Oberland: A Travel Guide with Specific Trips to the Mountains, Lakes and Villages"is a fantastic little book, just what I wanted. Thanks to whomever recommended it!
Can't wait until September!

The book "Walking Switzerland, the Swiss Way", by by Philip and Marcia Lieberman, published by the Seattle Mountaineers, covers the lower Engadine. Ten differenct walks are described, of varying difficulty, mostly around Scuol. The Upper Engadine is covered in the chapter on walking tours, and suggests some nice walks around Pointresina.
