Hi there,
My fiancé and I are flying to Croatia in Aug. We arrive in Split on Aug 7 and will spend the 7th and 8th there. After that we want to see Dubrovnik and Montenegro. Then we'd like to head back towards Split and spend time on Hvar, Brac, and perhaps Korcula (?). We need to take the ferry over to Ancona on Thurs, the 16th. We're finishing in Italy and flying out of Florence. Does anyone out there have any ideas as to how we should structure the Croatia portion? Do Ferries depart Split for Ancona everyday? Seems like it's only Sun and Thurs from what I've sen. ANY HELP or advice would be great! Thanks!

If you can't get a ferry that departs on a convenient day, note that easyJet has seasonal flights in the summer between Split and Milan and Split and Rome.
Many people are happy to see either Korcula or Hvar but not both.
Thanks! Very helpful. I appreciate it.
The ferry traffic between Ancona and Split depends on the season but they run at least twice a day in August. It takes about 5 hours and the ferry is well-appointed. We found the Direct Ferries site the most useful. I didn't go to any of the islands but am writing up my Croatian itinerary from last summer in my blog at the moment: http://www.aussieinfrance.com/2012/04/my-croatian-itinerary-part-4-split-mostar-dubrovnik if that's any help.
Great info! I was originally concerned that we would have to take a ferry on the 14th since we're trying to make the Palio in Siena by the 16th. From what I've hear d here, there are a couple ferries EVERYDAY in August over to Ancona so I can probably get to Ancona leaving Hvar or Split on the 15th. Is this a relatively safe bet?
