We're going for 9 days and doing something like this without the last two stops:
Doolin - Cliffs of Moher
Dingle (2 days) - via Connor Pass
Kenmare/Ring of Kerry (2 days)
Beara Peninsula
Sheephead/Mizen Head Peninsulas
Kinsale/Cobh
Kilkenny
Dublin

Budman's advise sounds good. Do not make the mistake of spending more than one day in Dublin. I made that mistake. And on a resent post about Dublin almost everyone agreed that Dublin is not worth more than one day.

In don't know that I remember a thread in which almost everyone agreed that Dublin is not worth more than 1 day. I find that it is hard to see Dublin in just one day and, but if I were on a short trip, I wouldn't make Dublin a major destination.
Dublin has a great deal of history and fine theater can be a great time but it has always seemed difficult for me to see much in a short time despite the fact that it is very compact. I'll also say that I've never approached it with a good plan of what I would get done.
As European cities go, Dublin doesn't frequently seem to make it into the top 5 of lots of travelers but I'm not sure if it's because not as many people have been there or it just doesn't have enough great hits. I persomally am the type that prefers the countryside, so I lean away from Dublin, but I'm sure to go back for a couple of days next time over.
