8 day outdoorsy Itinerary Help (Lake Geneva, Bernese Oberland)

Jump to last reply

Comments and Suggestions on my itinerary are appreciated. This is for an early September trip, and we're mostly looking to relax and enjoy the outdoors and beautiful scenery. Long hikes and bike rides are very much part of a relaxing vacation for us :)

Day 1-3 Montreux: This gives us 2 full days on the lake, as we'd be training from Zurich after our flight lands in the afternoon. Thinking of spending one day for a long bike ride along the lake - are there good bike paths? The other day to see Chillon castle, maybe wine tasting, and some light hiking.

Day 4-7 Lauterbrunnen:Take the Golden Pass Panoramic train on day 4, maybe a light hike that afternoon. Then 3 full days for the area - likely hiking but maybe a bike ride mixed in.

Day 8???: I'm thinking it might be wise to spend our last night closer to Zurich to make our transportation to the airport shorter. Where do you recommend spending the last night? I'm currently debating between Zurich, Lucerne, or just staying in Lauterbrunnen one more night and catching an early morning train.

Day 9 - 2pm flight out of Zurich
