7 Nights south of Geneva in French Alps area

Jump to last reply

My wife and I are flying in and out of Geneva the last week of August and want to spend the week not too far away.

We have the Michelin Green Guide for the Rhone Alps and it seems really tough to decide on what to see. With only a week we don't want to stay in more than 2 places.

We will have a car and are thinking of 4 night in Meribel and 3 nights in Cordon which is not too far from Chamonix. In the past 4 years we've taken 2 vacations each in the Cerdagne and the Cevennes and mostly like to walk in the mountains.

We'd welcome any suggestions for walks that aren't technically difficult, take less than 7 hours total, and don't go up much more than 800 meters.
