6 days around Geneva

Jump to last reply

My family (husband, 8 and 10 yr old kids) and I are travelling to Uzbekistan. On the way, we connect in Geneva, so decided to get off for a week. 6 days actually as Uzbek Air has one flight in and out of Geneva - each Friday. This was a last minute decision and we've done little planning.

We have a car rental. We have a room booked in Annecy for the first 2 nights. Is this a good call? Should we stick to the Alps? Maybe the cable car from Italy to Chamonix? OR we could head south? We are totally open after Annecy. If we stay in the Alps and head east after Annecy, weaving through cool towns and passes, etc. how far could we expect to get? Como? Or is that fantasy land?

The kids are well-behaved, but not saints. Too young for a museum-heavy Paris trip. Our hope is for nice views, some cultural experience that's not freakishly touristy - although I know that's near impossible. We don't want to try to see 52 countries in 6 days, but we're up for some long days and want to make the most of our time.

Any and all comments are very appreciated. Things to see, stay, etc. Very welcome.
