About 10 years ago a thread was started with the intent to name 100 great things to do in Paris and about 4 years a go I see a "free things to do" thread. Several hundered ideas were posted. Times have changed, some things may no longer exist and prices have gone up. I know that I for one have relied on the prior lists, done may things and am now looking for new things that will not break the bank. With that said, how about a new thread to follow, with fresh ideas as well as some of the "classics. " Let's see if we can get to 500 items to include those that are free and those that have a cost. If you know the aproximate cost, posting it would be great. So, with that said, I'll start with a "classic" (and one of my favorites):
#1 Eat a small macaroon of a different flavor every day while in Paris (with luck under 2EU)

#2 Stroll hand in hand along the Seine in the evening with the lights reflecting off the water, with the one you love. (cost zero)
Buy a baguette, bite off the warm end and walk with it back to your hotel or apt, looking oh so chic
!
Buy a copy of the International Herald Tribune, sit in an outdoor cafe with a coffe, and watch the passing crowd while feeling very content ---- and a bit smug.
Take time to visit the Musée Jacquemart-André.

€ 10 (Audioguide €3)
Stroll along the right bank with a scoop of caramel au beurre sale icecream from Berthillion.

Check out the famous graves at Père Lachaise cemetery.
Go to a free museum on the 1st Sunday of the month - I like the Musée du Moyen Age (Cluny) http://www.musee-moyenage.fr/ang/homes/home_id21040_u1l2.htm
Visit one of the municipal museums. No admission charge for permanent exhibits. My favorites, so far, are the Musée Carnavalet, and Victor Hugo's home on the Place des Vosges.
