5 or 6 Days in Germany - Frankfurt, Karlsruhe, Munich

Hello travel experts I need some advice and suggestions for the first part of a trip to Europe. Myself and my SO are aiming to start in Frankfurt Germany. Take one day for Jet lag, and another to explore the city, then a day trip to Karlsruhe, back to Frankfurt and then moving on to Munich to stay for two more days.
I am just beginning to create an itinerary and am wondering if these three cities are a good combination to see. Suggestions for major things to see in each of these cities are welcome, as well as other places that might be close for day trips when staying in Frankfurt or Munich.
We plan on staying in Germany for a total of 5 - 6 days, then we will be moving on to Zurich Switzerland.
