5 days in the Morvan (Burgundy)
We're staying in the heart of the Morvan for 5 days in June and looking for advice about day trips to notable villages or historic sites. Vezelay is on the list: where else can we go within around one hour from Lormes?

Hi,
We spent four days in Burgundy but further north in the Yonne. We really enjoyed Auxerre (rented bikes and toured around). We also combined it with a visit to Chablis.
We were travelling with our school-age kids and we all really enjoyed visiting the Chateau de Guedelon. It was really interesting to see a castle being built using only construction techniques from the middle ages. Not sure if you are travelling with kids but ours also enjoyed the MuseoParc Alesia (they love the Asterix comic books)!. In terms of quaint towns we also enjoyed Noyer sur serein and Flavigny sur ozerain.
