We will be headed to London in September. My daughters are interested in all things Henry VIII and Harry Potter. Other historical spots, the theater and shopping (Harrods & Burberry) are priorities. We have been told the musical Let It Be would be a good choice. Any recommendations for our itinerary would be much appreciated! (our daughters are young adults)

for Henry VIII, the obvious destination is Hampton Court. you can get there and back by train out of Waterloo, or get a boat along the Thames [it takes quite a long time so it would be better to do this in one direction and the train back].
other places to consider would be the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, the V&A museum, and that's just for starters.

Thank you for your suggestions! I'll look into the boat ride to Hampton Court, sounds great. The websites you suggested have helped immensely. I'm getting a handle on how much we can do in five days. Not so overwhelming now.
The Warner brothers tour was for the making of the movie, Harry Potter, not anything to do with Henry VIII. Sorry if I was unclear about that. Will check out Anne Boleyn's family home. Great suggestion.

Might be a picturesque place to stop for refreshments. One of the shops in Bull's Head Passage was used in Philosopher's Stone film. There are websites about film locations, of course, such as:

if you fancied a day out in Kent, I'd suggest going to Chartwelll as well - get a train to Sevenoaks and rent a car for the day.

The boat ride is great . . . but don't take it TO the Palace. If the weather is decent, then take it FROM the palace into central London. It is a very long boat ride and if you take it to HCP, you won't arrive til after lunch time. So goto the palace by train, and then hop on the boat afterwards
