5 Day trip with wife & teens - Nice to Paris
Hey Guys,
I am planning a trip coming mid April with family. Would land in Nice and plan to end up in Paris. Would appreciate ur suggestions on the places to visit and importantly if a road trip (rental drive) would make sense. Its our 1st time in France and want to make it count.
Regards
Lance

With only 5 days you hardly have time to visit the Côte d'Azur, never mind drive to Paris, which would be a terrible idea anyway.
Get a guidebook for the Côte d'Azur and have everyone in the family read it and decide what's important to you. If you want to make this very short trip "count"it has to be all about exactly what YOU want to see and do, not what the rest of us strangers think.
How did you decide this was a good idea? What do you want to see and do? Budget?

Whether a road trip makes sense or not depends on what you are doing within such a short time. I presume you are from a car centric country where a trip and a road trip are interchangeable?
Driving in Nice (or any city of this size) is a hassle. Even more so in Paris. The driving between them is a long boring drive. You don't have a time to visit places benefiting from having a car.

Is your total time five days on the ground, with teens? Do you have tickets already? Where are you coming from? If from England or another European country, OK, but if you are coming from the States, you are spending so much money on just airfare, is there any way you could extend the trip by even 2 or 3 days? It would make such a difference in what you can do.
If only five days, you can make it count the most by staying in one place and really seeing things, rather than spending precious time and money on the highway, looking through a car window, seeing boring stuff you could see from any highway. At the very least, choose placegs close together or with high speed trains, so you use the least time possible driving around and save time for sightseeing.
