Hotel Flora.
Get lost in the streets
Either a moroscaffo or whatever or a taxi from piazza da Roma.
Or a bus but it takes age.

Depends on your budget
Get lost in the streets or buy a guide book
Water taxi

Why are you going to Venice if you don't know what to do? Read a few guidebooks, get maps, study the official website of the city. Where to stay depends on how many euross youhave to spend per night, among a number of other things.

Thanks much, everyone!
Prefer a bit more modern hotels
Dont mind spending USD $200 a nite for central location etc
Heard best to catch varopetto fr Venice to Airport
(We R fine w that as still fairly healthy)
Booked an Opera in the palace one nite already

Would appreciate any/all suggestions
Much Aloha

Venice and Modern do not go together.

<Why are you going to Venice if you don't know what to do? >

Why are you posting if you have no advice to give?

Oh, wait, sorry, you DO have advice:

<Where to stay depends on how many euross youhave to spend per night, among a number of other things.>

Thanks for elucidating that, we had no idea!!

Dear All,
Realized Venice hotels tend to be traditional in decor, just hoping for less ornate n more classically clean feel..
Perhaps staying a bit out of the city center would yield more value in hotels/choices..thank you

Dear PalenQ,
The 3 days in Venice trip report was most helpful which promoted me to book the evening opera in the palace..thanks

The 2day varopetto pass for 40€ (Perhaps higher now)
seems like a good idea!
Very early flight so the varopetto might not wrk for trip to airport-
Wonder if other suggestions..Aloha
