My plane from Frankfurt arrives at Vienna airport at 09:20 and my connecting flight to Varna departs at 09:55. This gives me 35 minutes at best.
I'm not very happy about it especially since nobody can give me any more info regarding terminals.
The first flight is operated by Austrian. The second - by Tyrolean.
I'd appreciate any comments and suggestions.

I find that very short connection time a bit odd. Though airlines sell those tickets based on minimum connecting times. So they know what they are doing.
You should address Austrain with this problem.
Thanks.
I did actually contact Austrian as soon as I booked the ticket. They said the company I had booked my ticket with (www.flug24.de) was responsible for me prior departure.
That sounded strange to me especially since both flights are practically operated by Austrian.
Anyway, I contacted www.flug24.de and they said all I needed to know was at www.checkmytrip.com.
Maybe I'll write to Austrian again.
While the Vienna Airport is not that large you have the potential for a problem.
Tyrolean Airlines is a part of Austrian operating mostly shorter distance flights. You can usually get a boarding card for the onward Varna flight when you check in at Frankfurt-
Most probably your flight from Frankfurt will arrive at Terminal area C - mormally it arrives at a jetway but depending on traffic some flights stop at a remote park place and passengers are bussed to the terminal.
Hopefully you will arrive at the terminal jetway and this of course saves time.
This flight from Frankfurt does not have the best on time arrival record- today on time - yesterday 20 minutes late. Frankfurt is known for its conjestion.
Large TV screens will show departure times and gates for departing flights in the terminal to assist you.
Sometimes depending on the aircrft, onward connecting flight info will be shown on the on board tv screens of your arriving plane.- A good help.
Your Varna flight may leave from termnal D - this a 5-7 minute walk from C
If it departs from Terminal B - this is much better as closer - just below C
Probably you are considered a transit passenger and must only pass through a security check.
As the departing aircraft is a smaller one- you most probably will be bussed to a remote parking area to board the aircraft - this takes added time.
I would look for a alternate Plan B as this connecting time is not good .
Many factors for you to miss the onward flight.
This site may help you learn a little of Vienna airport
www.viennaairport.at
Is this a single ticket purchased from Austrian airlines - if so and ou miss the flight it is their problem.
If this is bought from some sort of consolidator and you miss the flight - then they have to fix it - and good luck with that.
If it were me I would go to the Austrian Airlines site and try to book these flights to see if it is a legal connection for them. If you see that they won;t let you do it - you may want to reconsider rebooking now - since there seems to be a significant chance you won;t make the change - and very unlikely any luggage would.
Thank you very much, molker!
I have, of course, gone through all available maps and docs on Vienna airport but haven't found anything.
Your detailed reply is very appreciated and I will look into the possibility of getting the boarding pass for the second flight at Frankfurt airport - that would be of great help.
And thank you, nytraveler!
Your reply has made me contact both Austrian and flug24. I am now waiting for a reply.
Thanks for the help.
I have experienced Vienna Airport as extremely efficient, so there is hope.
Thanks, quokka! I needed that
Do you have luggage that needs to be checked? I'd be concerned that my luggage wouldn't make it. If you just have carry on, then that won 't be a problem.
Have you checked what the next flight out would be if you missed the connection?
So crane, how was your experience in the end?
I'll be transiting via Vienna on Dec 23 at around 7pm from Munich to Milan. i'm so worried that i called air berlin to have them promise me that i'll be able to catch my connecting flgiht! but i read on some other forums that things can get quite chaotic at vienna. so can you tell me if you had a good experience in the end?
or any others who have flew with air berlin from munich to milan before? Thanks!
