3 Wake-up calls

Lessons reinforced on a recent trip:
(Can't say "learned" as I already knew)

1. Left shoes awkwardly located in hotel room and tripped over them in the night,
Twisted my back a bit, but it could have been so much worse and bright side is
I discovered the wonder of buying OTC aspirin w/codeine at a Boots.

2. Slipped my Starbucks card back into the little card case I use and then somehow
missed my jacket pocket when I put it back. Bright side was I noticed it being gone
within minutes, returned to Starbucks to be met by a friendly woman asking "Are you
nyse?" She recognized me from my ID photo in the little case, and she made my day.

3. Flight home was moved up 1.5 hrs and we were oblivious. Airline took care of us but
I was certain we had not been notified of the change. When I got home, I realized we had been,
in an email titled "flight confirmation." I emailed the airline, thanking them for the good care, but
suggesting a better email subject line, like "Flight Change!" They said they "will review," so
good luck with that one.

Bottom line, travel mindfully. All three incidents were caused by my careless inattention and each one
could have been ruinous to a happy trip. I was very lucky.

Your airline probably has an app which alerts users to flight changes. My Delta app sends me a text and has a little exclamation point when I open it, so it's hard to miss such an alert.

Edward, I appreciate your suggestion. But I've learned there's really no app to fix stupid.
