3 days in Annecy & day trips

Hi again,

We will be staying in Annecy for three nights (Sept 18-20) before leaving for home from Geneva airport. I prepared an itinerary and would like you guys to give me any advice or recommendations. I want to note that we will not be spending time in museums or inside the castles. This trip will be mostly walking around the towns, seeing some top attractions, taking pics, driving around and stopping for nice views, etc. With limited time we want to see as many places as possible. But, if you think if something is not worth to drive please do let me know. We are in our early 30s and fit and have go-go pace rather than sitting and taking it all in (we wish we had the time for that). Oh, and we love eating!

Day 1: Annecy, Menthon Saint-Bernard chateau, Tallories and drive up to Le Col de la Forclaz. Gorges du Fier, Aix les Bains, and Chambery. Drive back to Annecy.
Day 2: Megeve, Saint-Gervais-les-Bains and Chamonix. Drive back to Annecy.
Day 3: Evian-les-Bain, Yvoire, and Geneva. Stay in Geneva.

Another note is that we might visit Aix les Bains and Chambery on our way to Annecy from Nice, therefore we have more time in day 1 for other activities.
Thank you!

We drove from Lyon to Annecy via Chambéry and Aix-les-Bains. In response to my post asking for information and suggestions for this trip, I got a wonderful description and directions from French Mystique Tours of a route we took. Here's what I said about it in my trip report:

CHAMBERY - AIX-LES-BAINS - SEMNOZ PLATEAU

We picked up our car from Europcar at 9:00 a.m. and left Lyon in a downpour. By the time we got to Chambéry the rain had let up so we decided to venture into town and look around. We found a parking spot and walked a couple of blocks to the town center where the Saturday morning market was in full swing. There was a market building surrounded by stalls filling the square and extending up the side streets. Everything you could wish for was there - flowers, plants, produce, chickens, ducks, rabbits, cheeses, sausages, meats, wines, kitchen gadgets, shoes, purses, scarves. The food items mostly seemed to be local products. Lots of shoppers.

From there, we went to have a quick drive-by look at Aix-les-Bains before heading for Annecy. The weather looked a little brighter so we decided to follow a route suggested by FrenchMystiqueTours that took us up to the Semnoz Plateau before descending into Annecy. A huge thanks to you, FMT, for sharing your knowledge and enabling us to experience one of the best drives of this or any trip. The weather wasn't wonderful, but the scenery was, and we enjoyed being virtually alone on top of the world (except for the cows, of course) for a couple of hours.

In that thread are several more suggestions from FMT.
