3 days in Adalucia after a week in Seville; Cordoba, Ronda, Malaga
I will be at a conference in Seville for almost a week and have a 3 day weekend afterwards and would love to do a little roadtrip. Whats a great and easy itinerary that includes culture, architecture, amazing food, fun surroundings?
I was thinking of this itinerary:
Day 1: AM drive from Seville to Cordoba, all day and evening in Cordoba
Day 2: AM drive to Ronda, spend time there and then drive up to to the coast to either Malaga or Marbella. Evening in either of the 2.
Day 3: Spend the day enjoying the coast and hopefully nice weather and catch an evening flight out of Malaga.
How does this sound?
Thanks!

Cordoba and Ronda are well worth a visit but I would consider a drive to Granada instead. The Alhambra is an incredible sight and should be visited, if possible. Then go to Malaga for your flight.

My suggestion would be to drive from Sevilla to Córdoba to see the Mezquita. I recommend lunch in affordable and traditional Taberna Salinas from 1879 some 300 meters north of the Mezquita in the very local atmosphere Roman Córdoba. Taberna Salinas comes recommended in the Michelin guide. The two of us had a perfectly fine meal, a bottle of wine and a couple of brandys two years ago for some 35-40€. http://www.tabernasalinas.com/
Then on to Granada with the spectacular Alhambra. http://www.andalucia.com/cities/gran...hamhistory.htm
Perhaps dinner in Restaurante Arriaga, the only restaurant in Granada city with one "sol" (star) in the Guia Repsol, the Spanish equivalent to the Michelin guide. Should give you an idea why the Basque country is considered the culinary heartland of Spain: http://www.restaurantearriaga.com/
Then go down from Granada to the Mediterranean coast along the scenic "Suspiro del Moro"-road (the Moor's Sigh). The name comes from the legenedary sigh of Boabdil, the last emir of Granada, when he at the mountain pass known as Puerto del Suspiro del Moro, for a last time had a look back upon the now lost city (1492). His mother shall then have said: "You cry like a woman over a city you couldn't defend as a man". http://www.holavalencia.net/2010/02/...and-almunecar/
Perhaps lunch in seaside Almuñécar (at the end of the link above), before heading to wonderful Málaga city for the final night, "Picasso's city of hidden treasures": http://www.theguardian.com/travel/20...-breaks-travel
I recommend to have dinner in excellent Mesón del Cervantes, just off the Cervantes theater in the heart of Málaga:

And perhaps finish the night off in El Pimpi, an institution in town: http://www.elpimpi.com/

Kimhe, thank you. thats an amazing itinerary. One thing though, in 2002, I basically did the 3 main cities (seville, cordoba and granada) so I was thinking of switching it around a little this time and included Ronda. You don't have Ronda on the itinerary. How come? I thought it was quite magical, no?
So you are saying:
Day 1: Cordoba+Granada, night in Granada
Day 2: Coast+Malaga, night in Malaga
Day 3: Ronda?

Malaga is great, but the area surrounding it is highly overbuilt, traffic is intense and parking nearly impossible.
Ruta del Veleta Restaurante in Granada has one Repsol Sun (www.rutadelveleta.com), in addition to Arriaga.
