3 day Artecard purchase in Pompeii and Herculaneum

I have a question regarding buying the 3 day Artecard We arrive at 8:20 pm at the Naples Airport, too late to buy the card there. We are not going via the Naples train station, and have accommodation in Pompeii. We want to go to Pompeii early the next morning. I have read conflicting reviews on whether you can buy an Artecard from the Pompeii bookstore, so if someone has done that recently, I would appreciate hearing about it.
I would also like to find out if the bookstore opens at 8:30 am when Pompeii does, or does it open at 9:00 am.
If I can't get them at Pompeii, do they sell them at Herculaneum?
I believe they are supposed to sell them at these sites, but I have read where people can't buy them there.
Thanks in advance.
