We expect to be in Instanbul in the fall for 3-4 days. We prefer organized tours vs. wandering on our own to hear the local's perspective, history ,etc.
So the question is - should we book with a tour company here, including hotel, etc., or should we book a hotel on our own and hook up with a tour via the concierge desk or elsewhere once there?

Trip Ideas
We used a great company when we were there. Our guide was history major - they worked with us on what we wanted to see. Also arranged an airport transfer through them too. Copany is Transbalkan Travel. www.transbalkantravel.net We paid in U.S. Dollars which was nice too.
Better to do own research and try not to leave it to last minute to concierges !
Happy travelling,
Murat
