2.5 Weeks in Europe Bag - Carry On

Hey, so I have planned a trip with a friend to go to 4 cities in Europe over around two and a half weeks. We would like to have the main carry on bag with some sort of day bag, but will be flying Ryanair and Easyjet with their strict limitations. Any recommendations for the main bag as far as size, comfort, experience etc goes

Ryanair has not only a size limit but a weight limit for carry-on. You may have to pay the extra for putting the luggage in the hold.

Oh we had to pay Ryanair big-time for the Paris-Rome flight, was only packed for 10 days and it was one-way; my 21" Lucas takes me everywhere for 3 weeks and it's very inexpensive, many advertised 'best' carry-ons are not best for one's wallet. Luggage changes almost as frequently as fashion, an 'investment' in same is foolish, me thinks. Tom Bihn bags seem to be the latest, my husband found a comparable one but w/ wheels in Costco, comparable in that the sides hold the shoes with the center for all else. Can you make it through four cities in 2 1/2 weeks in a packed 15# bag? I cannot.....

You can check either 15 or 20 kilos in the hold for Ryanair plus 2 items of hand luggage. You pay for hold luggage.

From the Ryanair site:

One cabin bag per passenger* weighing up to 10kg with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm, plus 1 small bag up to 35 x 20 x 20 cms.

10kg is about the weight of the carry on bag with wheels. Is it not?? 10kg=6.25lbs.Maybe a nylon duffle bag would work. You might be able do it but you have to be a frugal, flexible garment wearer and not a fashionista, and pack with using hand rolling the things tightly ..You do not mention the time of year and that can impact the wardrobe. If the cost isn't prohibative don't stress out, pay the tab and enjoy!!

10kg=6.25lbs

It equals 22lbs. 2.2lbs to the kilo.

We were 1 month transatlantic but always have 1 csrryon each. Part of our trip included easyjet and ryaniar. Even though bag was the correct size (and I'm not sure they were the same on both airlines) was soooo nervous about the size and weight limits, wore 2 shirts, 2 jackets but no problem.
