2 weeks to spend before meeting friends in Rome for a cruise
We are wide open to ideas for spending the first 2 weeks in October on our own (58 yr. old married couple) prior to a rendezvous in Rome with others. We do a lot of traveling but wanting some thoughts from others. What would you do? Thanks!

Have you been to Italy before? And where will you go on your cruise? It would help to know these things before making suggestions. If this is your first trip to Italy, I would consider spending part of the two weeks in the countryside, perhaps Tuscany or Umbria. If you love art, I would consider spending some time in Florence. If you've never been, Venice is quite incredible. A little information would help us to make more useful suggestions.

Yes, I see that more info would be helpful. We have spent time in Italy before: Rome, Venice, Florence and a little bit of Amalfi Coast; still a lot to explore. Have been to France, Germany, Spain, Greece, Turkey. Nothing in Eastern Europe. Have traveled thru Ireland and England.
