2 weeks thru Germany
Greetings friends! The wife and I have two weeks in late October 2005. We're considering flying into Prague and coming home from Amsterdam. With those locations in mind, what do you like in between? The places we're considering are Munich, Rothenburg, Heidelburg, Trier. We're fans of the train if that helps. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you have.

A few ideas:
SALZBURG/BERCHTESGADEN AREA. Beautiful part of the world. Salzburg is "Sound of Music" area. Spend a few days in that area. Visit the Koingsnee Lake, Salt Mines and Eagles Nest in Berchtesgaden. Both cities very close together.
ROTHENBURG AND HEIDELBURG: Both good selections. You can research this site for many ideas on what to see.

You can't go wrong with Trier and the Mosel River Valley either. Of course you'll visit Porta Nigra, the Ampitheatre and Roman Bath remains as well in Trier. There are literally dozens of towns along this region of the Mosel worth exploring, to include Cochem, Bernkastel-Kues, Winningen, etc,
And the wine-tasting here? Delicious!
