2 week honeymoon in Italy

Jump to last reply

We are traveling during the dreaded high season, 8/3-8/19 as I work in education. We are flying roundtrip into Rome.

My fiance lived in Southern Italy for 7 years in the USAF. I have never visited.

For our honeymoon we are spending 2 weeks, and definately going back to Brindisi to visit his friends from his time living there. He having lived in Italy we do not have a problem with renting a car if needed.

We would like to cover a lot of ground....Tuscany and it's agriculture are most important to me, and I know we will be spending a few days there (should have been more specific I work in Ag. Education). I also know I would like to see some of the historical sites of Rome and Florence.

He would also like to visit Pompeii and show me the beauty of the coast (knowing it will be very crowded this time of year)....which as you can see lends us to be covering a lot of ground.

Any suggestions for how and which order to make these trips...and lodging and dining suggestions?

Any help much appreciated. Even though he lived there, I am the planner in the relationship, which is challlenging at best having never been.
