2 Porto-Lisbon q's, 1 phone q

Thanks again so much for all the advice in my other thread. Now with just 2 weeks til departure, I have a few more q's.

Upon arrival at Lisbon airport, we're going to take a train to Porto. My understanding is we need to book these train tix in advance. Does anyone have advice as to what time frame to leave from our estimated arrival time, to the time to book for train departure?

Also, on day 5 of our 8 day trip, we'll be driving all the way from Pinhao to Lisbon. Thoughts about what we have time for, and is worth it, for stops on the way? We'd like to drop the car off outside Lisbon just before dark if possible, tho if it ends up having to be later we might consider.

We'd had some thoughts about this but are re-considering and open to all ideas.

Finally, advice for a tech ignoramus re: easy but not over the top expensive way to get my phone to have 4G when no WiFi, as we travel?

Thanks, and I promise a trip report to pay all advice forward!
