We have decided to stay in Wengen or Muerren instead of Interlaken (want more peaceful place) - We will be there in July 2011 - Any suggestions on hotels will be helpful (price not an issue) - Is it hard to carry luggage from trains to hotels? How does it work without cars?
Thanks Anne

We stayed in Wengen last spring and LOVED it! The hotel staff met us at the train station to transfer us to the hotel in a cart so no problem. We loved the charm of the car free village and found it much preferable to Grindenwald, but we did not visit Mueurren so I can not compare to that. We stayed at the Alpenrose and had a great experience - food, staff and room all lovely.
We stayed at the Caprice Hotel in Wengen a few years ago and it was heaven. It is maybe 100 yards from the train station and easy to walk to. We loved Wengen and also found it perfectly located for lots of adventures. We passed through Murren on our way to Schilthorn and we thought it felt a little sleepier and out of the way.
Hi Anne_MarieRobinson,
I've stayed at the 3-star Hotel Alpenrose two times

Yes, if you like, the hotel staff will meet you at the train station in an electric van or cart.
Have fun!
