2 hotels in Copenhagen

We are going on a cruise this summer and starting out with a couple of days in Copenhagen, where the cruise starts.

We are considering 2 different hotels, the Clarion Collection Mayfair, and the Best Western Hotel City. Both have great reviews and both are priced within our budget. Both are in good locations in the center, but they are in totally different locations, and I can't decide which location is preferable. Both hotels are equally acceptable to us - with the only real difference being the location of each.

The Clarion (Helgolandsgade 3) is near the train station and the Tivoli, and the Best Western (Peder Skrams Gade 24) is near Nyhaven.

I would appreciate any opinions by those who are familiar with the city as to whether there is any preference regarding the locations of these 2 hotels.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Try Tripadvisor for specific hotel reviews and recommendations. Both locations look great, so it might be a matter of your priorities. Personally, I would choose Nyhaven location over Tivoli and the train station.

I already checked tripadvisor. As I clearly wrote, they both have very good recommendations and the only difference as far as I can tell is the location.

Thanks for your response.

Nyhaven area,steve...easy walk to almost everywhere you'd want to see in town. That would be my choice for next visit..stayed at the Ibsen near the "lake" last time. Excellent lodgings buy Nyhaven is more in the core of things.

I'd consider Nyhaven more central to the charming district of Copenhagen and better for evening strolling and dining choices, but Tivoli is transportation central for easy access to everywhere in the city and region. I stayed at city hall square (near Tivoli) and it was fine, but I'd choose Nyhaven next time just for the different scene.

You've convinced me - Nyhaven and the Best Western it is. I've ready made the reservation.

Thanks to all.
