2 for 1 Rail Pass - Purchasing at Victoria Station?

I am flying into London on 7/4/12 into Heathrow. Plan to buy Oyster Cards at Heathrow to get me to Victoria Station (and then onto my Flat - Kent House Station). That is all of the traveling I intend to do on 7/4/12.

I want to buy 7 day rail passes (these cover all zones, right?) at Victoria Station but don't want them to be activated until 7/5/12. Is it possible to do this? Or, do I need to pay for the train back to Victoria Station on 7/5 and buy the rail pass that day?

When buying my rail pass in Victoria Station, can anyone give me advice to make sure I buy the correct pass for the 2 for 1's?
