2 for 1 London

I'vesearched National Rail and Day's Out, yet I still couldn't pin down whether I can get a 2 for 1 ticket ( joint rail/admission?) for Hampton Court Palace from the Wimbledon Station or is it only allowable from the Waterloo Station. Does anyone know? Thank you to whomever can help me ( and maybe others) out.

The 2for1 Days Out aren't the same thing as combined rail/admission excursions.

The 2for1's get you admission by showing your pre-printed voucher and a train ticket at the Hampton Court Palace ticket kiosk.

If you buy a combined train/admission ticket -- you can't also use the 2for1 since you will have already paid for your admission.

Hi janisj...nice to hear (read) from you again.
Okay, let me see if I'm nearly clear. I have two choices: buy a joint (rail/discounted ad) ticket on the day of going to HCP at the Wimbleton Station from the District Line stop... OR...when buying a train ticket from Gatwick to London keep the paper ticket and with a printed Day's Out voucher from my homesite for HCP and the Tower of London present it at the attractions door (voucher and train ticket from three days earlier). If I didn't pass the test this time I'll just plan on a 1 for 1. If possible, janisj, please grade my paper.

Well actually you have several. The two obvious ones are

3) the train ticket from Wimbledon to HCP entitles you to the 2-4-1 offer on www.daysoutguide.com

4) a Travelcard bought at a London train station booking office will also allow you to use the 2-4-1 offers - and gives you travel on the Tube, buses & other trains to boot.

Thanks alanRow for two more options. Maybe 4 possibilties will give me a good 4 to 1 odds for getting one of them right. I'm feeling more knowledgable, thanks to everyone's help.
