1st Eurotrip: Copenhagen - Paris - Barcelona - Ireland

This is my first Eurotrip and I have finally decided on my destinations: Copenhagen, Paris, Ireland, Barcelona (maybe Amsterdam or London if I can squeeze one of them in).

Next step is deciding how many days to spend in each destination! I am starting off in Copenhagen and below is the number of days I have to spend with a rough draft plan of what I have in mind so far. Any advice or recommended changes on how to spend my precious vacation days is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Day 1: Arrive in Denmark
Day 2: Copenhagen
Day 3: Copenhagen
Day 4: Flight to Amsterdam
Day 5: Amsterdam
Day 6: Flight to Paris
Day 7: Paris
Day 8: Paris
Day 9: Paris
Day 10: Flight to Barcelona
Day 11: Barcelona
Day 12: Barcelona
Day 13: Flight to Dublin
Day 14: Ireland
Day 15: Ireland
Day 16: Ireland
Day 17: Fly back home to the States

you have a LOT of responses on your other thread

It looks like you've added some more time. You only mention "I" - are you still traveling w/ your sister?

Yes I am still traveling with my sister. We both managed to take more time off work to lengthen our trip. Figured I should start a new thread since my plans changed. Is that against the rules or something? If so, sorry I'm new here!

No -- not to worry. Definitely not against the rules. It is just that you received lots of suggestions on the other thread and many folks won't have seen it and there will be a bit of reinvention of the wheel/duplication. Your current plan is not too much different really

It sounds like you are young. I would limit my trip to three places and get to know them. We started traveling when we were young and we still travel with the idea that is better to know a few places well, than many poorly.

It sound like you will return. Remember you will lose at least 1/2 day every time you change cities.

One problem though . . . It is very hard to have a loose itinerary if one is traveling in the summer, especially in August. Places book up pretty far ahead.

You already have a very busy itinerary, please don't mess it up by trying to add in another destination! I notice you have cut your time in Paris and Barcelona from your other thread. You will enjoy your trip more if you visit fewer places for longer times. One day in Amsterdam? Either spend a few days there or cut it.

I seem to remember that you are firm on flying into Copenhagen. If not, I'd cut it as it is a bit of an outlier. You have 17 days, and you will be traveling for 6 of them. For me that would be way too much time in transit in relation to time getting to explore the places I wanted to see in Europe.

The last itinerary you posted on your other thread is much better than this one, but I'd still cut one destination from that one.

I also notice that you are flying everywhere. That will make a dent in your budget, not so much because flights are expensive, but you have to get to and from airports that are located outside the cities you are visiting. It also means it will take up lots of time (have to get to the airport early, etc). I don't think you fully appreciate how much time/energy/money moving from place to palace takes.
