We are planning to rent a car in Basel Switzerland and spend about 16 days driving and touring this corner of France and Switzerland. It is all new territory for us and we are just
in the beginning planning stages.
I would love some tips and ideas...Hotels, Restaurants, Wineries, Favorite Stops, Etc
We would like to divide out time up in 3-4 stops, staying 3-4 nights in each spot.
Please share some of your ideas and favorites with us.
Thank You

Hi Lovey, this area has the only concentration camp on French soil plus a bunch of fortresses along the top of the Vosges, In fact visiting the top of the Vosges can be part of a day trip. There is a large field (plus a restaurant) called the Ballon d'Alsace which makes a fine end to the Vosges and from here, on a clear day you can see Mont Blanc.
Play with this websites and you should get a bunch of useful links http://www.mybikeguide.co.uk/Alsace_Guide.php and of course I advise visiting the wineries on a bike not a car.
