My daughter and I have only one night in Paris. We are staying on the Ile de Cite. We are thinking Seine Cruise from Pont Neuf around 7:30-ish, then dinner 9ish back near the hotel. I understand the Ile St. Louis has some good restaurants. Ultimately, someplace food is good and maybe there is outdoor dining or a view. We would like to spend up to $150 for the two of us.

Can anyone recommend a spot? (I think we would consider also some place on the Right bank or even a short metro ride for someplace with a nice view of the Eiffel. I don't know how late the Seine cruises go from Pont Neuf, but we would consider an earlier dinner near Eiffel, then head back to Pont Neuf for a cruise.)

s Ombres in the Musee Quai Branley has been getting rave reviews for both it' food and great view of the Tour Eiffel.
Search on the Forum, and you will find lots of discussion on the subject.

We will also be in Paris in October, and I'm going to try to make my reservations pretty soon.

nukesafe...looks fabulous, but looks like dinner would be 200 Euros, without wine! Maybe we can do it for lunch, though not as spectular a view, certainly nice and more affordable?

I am sure there will be a restaurant for your ample budget, but I wouldn't restrict it to just that area. The Metro or a taxi would put you anywhere you want.
There is a restaurant with a moveable roof--someone help me--near the Eiffel Tower.
What time of year will this be.

If you must stay on the Ile I would consider Mon Vieil Ami, which is run by Michelin triple starred chef Antoine Westermann. It is a contemporary restaurant with modern takes on Alsatian food. But no outdoor dining that I know of...

ek, we don't have to stay on the Ile, but it will have been a very long day for us, so did not want to have to worry about getting a taxi or taking metro late. We thought a nice stroll back to our hotel would be great after dinner. But, like I said, I don't know how late the boat taxis/cruise boats run on the Siene on a weeknight in October which, if they ran as late as say 10pm, we would consider having dinner near the Eiffel and then heading back to the Pont Neuf boat dock for a relaxing trip down the Siene. :0 So I'm still interested in any restaurants with good food and nice view. Is it too cool in mid-October to eat outside in Paris? (too cool for me would be anything lower than 60 degrees, for my daughter, probably 68.)

There are several restaurants in the Place Dauphine, just across the Pont Neuf from the Vedettes du Pont Neuf landing. While they don't have a view per se, they do have outdoor dining on the Place, one of the loveliest settings in Paris, IMHO. Two I can recommend are Restaurant Paul (not to be confused with the bakery chain) and le Caveau du Palais.

Thanks to all who posted suggestions. I finally hooked up with my daughter today. She looked at the options and websites and decided we should splurge on Les Ombres. More than I want to spend, but hey, she's sharing the cost. We actually found another mention here that indicated someone had made reservations on line with them by using the "Suggestions" email option. My daughter took 4 years of French and was actually able to email in French. We got an autoreply that the person picking up email is out until August 6th (thank heavens my daughter was here and could read it!). So, hopefully, we will hear back in about 10 days or so.
