1,5 day in Stuttgart - any tips?
Hi,
I'll be spending this Friday afternoon and Saturday all day in Stuttgart due to a business trip. I'd really appreciate a couple of tips on what to do and places where I could get some nice german food
Thanks in advance!
Juliana

I think that Fodorite hausfrau lives or lived in the area, so until she will mention more in-depth suggestions, you could start with the Museum of Art (18th century to contemporary):

Cube, the restaurant on the upper floor, has a nice view, though the "cuisine" is more Pacific Rim than German ;-)

Museum? Either Württembergisches Landesmuseum in the Old Palace (history) or the Neue Staatsgalerie (art).
View? Go up the TV tower. Clear weather needed.
Baroque palaces and park? Ludwigsburg
Zoo? The Wilhelma is said to be good.
Day trip, or half day trip, to a pretty, small, romantic old town that has got a lot of historical architecture (which Stuttgart hasn't)? Either Tübingen or Esslingen, both can be reached by train in half an hour.
Original Swabian food? Cheap? Check out the place in the Markthalle at lunchtime (don't remember the name).
Sorry, can't tell much about restaurants.
