You're pretty much asking the same question again.
This is the first time I've agreed with Rasta - this is the 5th thread in the last month asking the same questions. People have spent a lot of time supporting your trip and still we're down to should we do a tour or travel independently. I thought you were booking the trip a couple of weeks ago.
No one can recommend places to stay unless we know your itinerary which you haven't provided other than Venice. You have hotel recommendations on your other threads.
Take a tour. I think that's the best option for you.
