11 nights in Austria (Salzburg & Vienna)

Jump to last reply

Hi :) I'm heading to Salzburg for 5 days and Vienna for 6 days in mid May. I have a bit of a rough plan but want some recommendations on whether what I've got so far makes sense or if I'm missing any must sees. Thank you!

Salzburg (6-7 hours from Venice)
Day 1 - Getreidegasse
Day 2 - Schloss Mirabell Castle, Mozart's Residence & Birthplace
Day 3 - Werfen ice cave or Hallstatt
Day 4 - Old town, Hellbrunn Castle
Day 5 - Salzburg cathedral, Salzburg museum, Panorama Museum, Hohensalzburg Fortress

Vienna (3 hours from Salzburg)
Day 1 - Karntnerstrasse, The Prater (optional)
Day 2 - Stadtpark, St Stephen's Cathedral, Hofburg Palace, Spanish Riding School
Day 3 - Danube valley or any recommended day trip
Day 4 - Art History museum, Naschmarkt
Day 5 - Schoenbrunn Palace, Museumsquartier
Day 6 - Albertina Art museum, Vienna state opera, St Charles' church, Belvedere Palace
