11 days with small kids itinerary, help needed

Dear fodorians, First of all thanks very much for the very useful feedback in this site.

We are thinking of 4 nights in Montreux and rest in Interlaken. Thought of just staying in Interlaken for the whole journey, but we will miss some nearby attractions of Montreux like chocolate train which is hard to get from Interlaken base, thanks to information given to me by the 2 fodorians to my earlier post.

Would it be a good plan?

Is it possible to cover Zermatt from Montreux or Interlaken or is it a good idea to drop that part altogether. Probabaly Interlaken and nearby and Montreux and near by will satisfy us as this is our first trip to Switzerland.

Could any of you give an idea of must see attractions in these 4 nights from Montreux and 6 nights in Interlaken please. Because of a 6 year old and 6 months old children we will be slow in travelling with public transport.

We are travelling in early August.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and tips.

Regards Malone.
