My family is planning a trip to Sevilla in February 2003. We will have ten days. We are debating between spending the entire time in the Sevilla, "White towns", possibly Grandada (is that a must see?) or five days in Sevilla and the remaining five in Lisbon. We visited Lisbon/Sintra three years ago and absolutely loved it. We felt we hadn't seen enough so feel that tug to return. On the otherhand, we don't want to shortchange Sevilla and its surroundings. Any great advice????
10 Days in Sevilla/and Andalucia or spend half in Lisbon

sevilla! one could easily spend months there. granada is also worth 2 or so days. go to the must-sees there, the alambra, generalife, cuevas (gypsies, unbelievable food and night time dancing-flamenco). also a drive through the countryside to jerez, where the sherry/cognac are produced and the andalusian horses are bred/trained for the spanish riding school in austria is a great day trip from either spot.
i know, the pull to return where you enjoyed is strong, but sevilla and the rest of southern spain holds great memories too.
I hate to say this but 10 days in Andulacia is not enough. As you fell in love with Lisbon/Sintra you will fall in love again with Andulacia, especially if you do the circle route of Cordova, Granada, White Towns, Sevilla. I'd spend my time in one place or the other and then come back.
Which I intend to do next year.

Fly into Malaga in the morning (if you can), drive to Arcos (de la Frontera), spend 1 or 2 days there, then on to Sevilla, spend a 3 days there, then either directly to Lisbon for the remainder, or drive up and stay in Extremadura for a day or two. That is a fairly straight driving route (assuming you can fly out of Lisbon). While there is much to see in Andalucia, there is no way you can cram it in, so hit Sevilla--Granada is fine, but the Alhambra is soo touristy and the Alcazar in Seville is just as spectacular (in my mind). The white villages are mostly similar to someone just passing through, and Arcos is an excellent example. I don't find Sintra that interesting except as a home base outside of Lisbon. I would try and stay in the city.
You should really narrow down what you want to see before trying to make an itinerary though!
