10 days in July-Aug with kids - Switzerland and Italy

Jump to last reply

We are planning a 10 day trip to Switzerland and Italy in the end of July with 2 kids ages 11 and 6. Seeking help from the travel experts out here on the itinerary. Would like to get a swiss rail pass (SBB) and do day trips from may be Zurich as a base? Would not be doing any extensive hikes. Interested in scenic trips, lakes, museums and getting up close to the culture . Also want to see some of Italy, which ever might make most geographical sense, although would love to include Venice. I am trying to read up on travel blogs and Rick Steves - all in all very overwhelming since we only have a month left.
Any ideas and help will be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
