10 Days in Italy with husband, son and girlfriend

Jump to last reply

Greetings! First timer!
I've never been to Europe, and have ALWAYS wanted to go to Italy. (Family is from Genoa). We are planning early 2013 (is March okay?). We are flying into Rome, and from reading the forums, it sounds like 4 days should be allowed, considering jet lag. I THINK we would also like to see Florence, Genoa, then Milan and Verona? Can that be done? ANY suggestions? WE LOVE HISTORY, museums, antiques, anything old; food, wine and beer, walking around. We don't have a lot of money, so this has to be BEST VALUE and 3 star max. I'm starting out from scratch and need all the advice you can give me. Method of transportation between cities, routes, etc. My son and his girlfriend will probably leave us after a week to go to Paris, but my husband and I will stay in Italy.
Thank you so much, I REALLY appreciate it.
Janice
