10 day Itinerary for South Spain with Toddler

Jump to last reply

My husband and I are planning a 10 -14 day holiday in the second half of September in south Spain, with our 1.5 year old boy. I've seen quite a few travel itineraries for Spain and they've helped me get a good idea of the area, but still wanted some help/ideas/tips from people who might have traveled with a toddler. I'm an artist, so I definitely want to check out the local art scene, specially the moorish architecture. I've also been learning the flamenco, so would love some suggestions on must-see performances and perhaps flamenco lessons too!
Here's what I've planned so far:
Fly in to Malaga (4 days) and use that as a base to check out Granada and Cordoba. Then move to Seville (3-4 days). I think I'll to travel back to Malaga to catch a direct flight back home (Newcastle upon Tyne). Trying to fly direct and use public transport in Spain, to keep travel simple with our son. Or do you think renting a car is a better option?
I'm 'very' tempted to make this a south Spain + Morocco trip (Imperial cities) since we have a decent number of vacation days. Malaga and Marrakech both have direct flights to Newcastle, so technically it can be done if planned correctly. Although I'm happy to drive in Spain if need be, I don't think I'd want to do that in Morocco. Also I get the impression that public transport isn't as reliable there? sO whats the best way to get around there?
Would really like some help sorting out the itinerary its self, as well as lodging and sightseeing suggestions. Thank you!
