10-12 days in Europe....leaving on 12/26.....where would you go and why?

Jump to last reply

Hi - last year our family spent 12 days in Rome over the holidays. This year, I'm hoping to stay home through Christmas day and leave on the 26th. I've been looking for ideas on where we might spend 10-12 days again. Most likely looking at 2 cities. This will be our 15th trip to Europe so we're comfortable with travel, moving around, etc. Here are the options i've come up with so far:
Barcelona/Seville
Florence/Sienna
Athens
Paris/Loire Valley
We've been to all of them except Athens before. Our son will be with us for the first few days and will then fly to Madrid to spend time with his girlfriend there (yes, he's using us to get across the pond). We try to do off the beaten path things on second and third visits if at all possible; not tha the major attractions ever get old!
Any and all ideas, suggestions and critiques are welcome.
Many Thanks!
