1 day trip Bern or Interlaken?

Hello,
I'm going with my girlfriend to ski in Wengen in December and I was wondering wich one would the best itinerary: 1 day trip to Bern or Interlaken?
We would be coming from Austria by train and Bern would be one change, late at night. We would sleep and then have the whole day off.
At the end of the day we will go to Wengen .
Any suggestions would be very helpful,
Regards

Hi rntrrr,

I find Interlaken to be pretty boring. Sure, it's pretty to walk along the river, but that only take up about half an hour. Otherwise, it's a huge tourist and transport hub for folks who are there to see the mountains.

Bern is an interesting and vibrant city, I think, and will give you more of a contrast with Wengen. It has a rich history and really interesting architecture, and of course the city also has a river meandering through it.

I'd go with Bern!

I think your point of view is really worthy.
Thanks , I will probably change my itinerary to Bern.
