XMAS BREAK FAMILY CRUISE?

Kids have 2 full weeks off this Dec. Is it too late to book a cruise? Are there any reasonable deals out there? Live in NY, need 2 rooms. Can leave anytime after 12/18. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Judging by the emails I've been getting recently, it's not too late. Rates are still high compared to other time periods though. Most of the pricing I've seen has been around $700-800pp inside to $1300pp balcony. NCL Dawn sails from NY if you prefer not to fly. Do you have a preference of where you want to go?

No. I really don't have a preference. But the airfares are very high during that time even just to Fla. But a weeks cruise from NY might be too much unless its a real bargain.

I would not go out of New York for a cruise at Xmas. You want to get to where the weather is good and the seas are calm to really enjoy yourselves. There are so many large ships needing to fill their cabins that the competition in the Caribbean is worth checking out. In terms of cheap flights to Florida we often use Jet Blue to Ft. Lauderdale which is where many of the ships leave from. I usually search the websites mentioned here for good pricing:crucon, cruises only, check also cruise critic because they post specials and I've seen some Xmas specials come up. We love balcony cabins and got our kids one last Xmas also but I have to admit they really didn't use it the way we did. We loved the Grand Princess but we have sailed with just about all the cruise lines. Good luck finding a good deal.

You might want to try www.vacationstogo.com. These are cruises only at very good rates. Look around the site. They list them by departure port if you sort them that way. Have a great time.

I don't know but we got a fantastic deal on RCC for the week of Dec 19th. Our cabin is an outside with 3 in a room and it is costing me about $1200 a person. That is the same price as we got on Carnival last Christmas. Airfare can be expensive. Keep checking and possibly book on your own. Sometimes you do not get the best flights through the airlines. They wanted to charge us $800 our of Chgo to San Juan. We kept checking on American and got airfare of $600 with the times we wanted.

Hold that our cruise went down in price. We are paying the same price as we did on Carnival last year. I goofed on that last post.
