Worse Cruise Experience On Holland America Eurodam

Our sailing on March 17-24 On Ms Eurodam, Holland America Cruise, Eastern Carribean was our worse spring break vacation. I was wondering why that each time we go to the general dining room, Lido for either breakfast lunch and or afternoon tea, the steward at lido are always grumpy, unhappy, tired and look over worked, and the dining room is always dirty. There is not single instance during either breakfast and or dinner, that we can find a clean set table. we literally have to hunt down the steward and forced them to clean our table. The company Holland America Cruise finally admit to me in letter that on this cruise dated May 3, 2012 that the staffing ratio was in red code, meaning they were under staff. The juice that they served are so watery, that you be better off dining just water and or hot tea/coffee. At Half Moon Cay, on the last day of cruise the BBQ served was horrible, I was served an uncooked hamburger, which led to intestinal stomach ache on my flight home to Seattle. At Half moon Cay, the stingray in captivity with wired fence and then charge cruise passenger for what they called ' An encounter with the stingray'. We have been to Grand Cayman, and have been to Stingray City where the Stingray are wild and free to roam. I contacted HAL about this and they denied that this is inhuman. I will be contact WWF and other this issue. The entertainment was boring, no standard, Cabin F1001 was dirty. Service was very unfriendly, and standard poor. The staff are not there to served the guests. Each time, I enter a specific room, they do not bothers about you, just linger and talk amongst themselves. Very bad cruise experience.Boring Grand Turk. We rented a car and ended up at Governor's Beach. That was the only nice thing. Other then that, Boring Grand Turk.Nice, enjoyed San Juan.St. Thomas. Enjoyed very much.We rented a car and enjoyed snorkelling at Corki Beach. Wow, the fish is amazing in shellow water which was good for my spouse.Boring Half Moon Cay. Boring unfriendly island staff. Food served by the MsEurodam was horrible. Uncooked Hamburger. HAL kept the stingray in captivity. Inhuman treatment oif wildlife and then charge you and me, the guest to touch this lovely mammals, This is and will be our first and last Cruise ever with Holland America Cruise

Boring Grand Turk. Only nice thing about Grand Turk, the beach at Governor's was nice
San Juan. Beautiful and Historical San Juan. Very Nice time
Our second visit to St.Thomas. We rented a car and head straight to Coki Beach for the excellent snorkeling. The shallow water is teaming with fishes. For someone who does not swim much this is a must activity. Recommend Coki Beach
Boring, poor, dirty Half Moon Cay. Belong to Holland America Cruise. There's so much thing wrong about this boring island. Firstly for an island, why would Holland America use such a heavy, polluted diesel truck to ferry guest around that small island ? The boring unfriendly staff on this island. The water is clear but ridden with debris. We stepped on can of coke, beer bottles. Holland America claim snorkeling on the section near the cabanas, you be lucky is you see a tiny small fish. Their encounter with stingray where they charge guest, tare actually stingray kept in captivity, and they charge guest to encountert this lovely fishes. We have visited stingray city in grand cayman, and the stingray are wild and free to come and go. This in inhuman. I suggest that you do not pay Holland America for thuis shameful encounter. Lunch served by Holland America was a shame, poor quality beverage and uncooked hamburger.

I saw that you were offered future OBC by HAL so at least they did something. However the thread in which you made this comment was started by a poster with a specific issue which seems to have merit. To me your post reads more like a rant. JM2C.

We sailed HAL to the Panama Canal and had a great time, not "boring" for a moment. Next time do some research before you book your cruise, you will save yourself a lot of grief.

How many times the word "boring" is used?

There are no boring places, only boring people!

Perhaps cruising isn't for you, from your description of the boring time you had everywhere. You are held captive on a ship, so if you're up for more adventure...

Before you decide go to cruise critic and read the hundreds of passenger reviews. This one review is just a slam IMHO.

We have cruised mnay times with HA and had a great time on the Eurodam last year.
This was definitely NOT the experience we had.
antondavis I would highly recommend the Eurodam and HA in general.

Wow! You obviously are not a happy camper. We have sailed on the Eurodam a couple of times and loved it. But we look for the good and overlook minor shortcomings. Your rant is exactly why we appreciate HAL's open dining. We don't want to get stuck sitting through meals with chronic complainers. We've met awesome people and shared many meals with fellow cruisers... by choice.
