Windsurf Lisbon to St Thomas Help Please
We leave Lisbon Nov 12 I think. Clothing?
Isn't it mostly a warm trip...at least as we get closer to Caribbean? I am thinking a light weight rain coat for the first days if on deck is cold. We are from Arizona--this is cruise number 26--but Windstar says to expect temps down to 42 degrees ( this is an office person, reading off a chart!

I would plan on cooler weather as you cross the ocean. NOvember is late and you will more than likely run into some stormy weather but it should get warm as you get into the Caribbean. Tough to plan clothing for a varied temperature. we were on the Windsurf this April and loved it.

Thanks Shar...it is a repositioning of course, so we think mostly warmer--but will have raincoats for deck the first few days. A much earlier Fodor post had another couple doing this a few years ago--warm starting off--warmer still as they got into Caribbean. We just love the days at sea....and want to pack as little as possible.

We have enjoyed three transatlantic crossings with Windsurf, twice from Lisbon to St Thomas and once from Lisbon to Barbados, all in November.
The first two or three days were cool, 60-65, but then it rapidly warmed up to the mid 90's long before we got to St Thomas. We never had any stormy weather. One time we changed course a little to avoid some bad weather and had a couple of days of clouds, but that was the worst we had.
Other than the first few days, you probably will live in bathing suits and cover ups during the day.
Enjoy!!

Hate to disagree, but we did this crossing two years ago, and it was pretty cool...didn't sit out too much, and we had some very blustery days. One such day,we had a sudden squall and ripped the front sail off. Went flying by, along with a lot of deck furniture, just as I was walking on the treadmill. Take some warm jackets, and sea sick pills, and games, if you like them. It is pretty quiet.

Think "layer"--bring a long sleeve tee and a sweater and a raincoat...IF it gets hotter, peel off layers...
You will definitely need short sleeves as you get closer to St Thomas...
But the Atlantic can definitely be cool...
